40' x 20' MODCO® 27 Island Exhibit | 800 sq. ft. Modular Trade Show Booth
MODCO 27 is a 40 x 20 island exhibit — 800 square feet of floor, 9.5 ft. high, built from perforated modular aluminum frames that pin together without tools. It is the largest configuration on this site. An island means attendees approach from all four sides, so every face of this build is a finished face rather than a back that faces drape.
Two things distinguish this configuration from the other MODCO packages. A louver frame runs down one side of the display, which breaks up a 40 ft. elevation that would otherwise read as one long wall. And the backwall carries shelving, so product sits inside the structure instead of on a rented table in front of it. The frame perforations are covered on the assembled build, so the finished surfaces are flat.
The frames carry silicone edge graphics: a silicone bead sewn around each printed fabric panel presses into a channel in the extrusion, giving a flat face with no frame edge showing around the print. Panels come out and go back in. On a build at this price that matters more than anything else on the page — the aluminum is a capital purchase you keep for years, and the graphics are a consumable you reprint when the message changes.

Read your show's height rule before you price this
At 9.5 ft. this build is taller than the 8 ft. that inline booths are usually capped at. Island spaces are normally allowed more height, but the limit is set per show and some venues cap it lower than 9.5 ft., with hanging signs counted separately. The number is in the exhibitor kit. It is worth confirming before you commit, because a height variance is a request to the show organizer rather than something we can resolve for you.
The same kit will tell you who is allowed to assemble it. A structure of this size in a union exhibit hall will normally be put up by the hall's own labor rather than your staff, and some venues also restrict who may move a crate off the dock. That is a real line in the show budget and it is not included in this price.
Shipping
Freight on this item is quoted by us, not priced in the cart. At 2,912 lb in two crates it moves by LTL freight — a weight no shopping cart can rate honestly — so call or request a quote before you order. We confirm the delivery address and the freight cost with you in writing before the order goes into production, and we need to know whether the receiving address or the show's advance warehouse is taking delivery, because at this weight it changes the number materially. If the crates are going to a convention center directly, the show's target move-in window matters as much as the address.
Production time
Confirmed in writing on the quote. This is a built-to-order structure with graphics printed to the panel sizes, not a stock item, so ask for the date before you commit to a show and plan the artwork approval around it rather than the other way round.
Questions
Can it run in a smaller space? Yes, and on a mixed show calendar this is the main argument for buying rather than renting. MODCO is a modular grid, so a portion of these frames and graphics builds a 20 x 20 island, a 10 x 20 inline, or a 10 x 10 wall for a regional show. Tell us the show sizes you actually exhibit at and we will say which sub-configurations this kit covers.
Can I reprint single panels? Yes. The frames are reusable and individual SEG panels can be reprinted on their own for a product launch or a rebrand. On an 800 sq. ft. build, reprinting one elevation rather than all of it is the normal way to refresh it.
I already have graphics from another exhibit. Will they fit these frames? No. An SEG panel is cut to one system's bead gauge, channel depth and panel dimension, and none of that is standardized between manufacturers. What to measure before you buy a frame for a graphic you already own.
Where does it live between shows? With us, if you want. Two crates and 800 square feet of exhibit is not something you keep in a spare office, and the alternative is paying to move it somewhere between every date. We hold exhibits for customers and quote it monthly on the floor space your crates actually occupy, plus anything you want done while it is here — cleaning, inspection after a rough show, or reprinted graphics ready for the next date. There is no flat rate because a 20 ft. inline and a 40 x 20 island do not take the same floor. Tell us what you own and we will price it.
What is not in the price? Freight, drayage and material handling at the hall, show labor where the venue requires it, lighting beyond what is specified, AV, flooring and furniture. Ask us for the full itemized bill of materials and we will get it from our fabrication partner, so you know exactly what arrives in the two crates before you spend $40,000.
What artwork do you need? Print-ready files at the panel sizes, which we send with the bill of materials. If you do not have artwork at size, send your logo and brand assets and we will build the files and proof them.
Setup, teardown, and the show floor
DG Creativ is in Stow, Ohio, and installation is half of this company's work. For shows in Cleveland, Akron and Columbus we can quote receiving the freight, managing the hall's labor requirements, setting the exhibit up on the floor and breaking it down afterward. Nobody buys an 800 sq. ft. island and then builds it themselves on a Sunday. Call 330.968.0678, email sales@dgcreativ.com, or request a quote.
