Water Bag for X-Bases: Feather, Teardrop, Falcon, Mamba

A ring-shaped bag that lies flat over the center of a flag X base and fills with water on site. Empty it packs flat and weighs next to nothing; filled it puts about 24 lb directly over the socket the pole stands in, which is the one spot where added weight does the most to keep a cross base from sliding or lifting on a gusty day.

Fill it from a hose or a couple of jugs once the flag is standing, and empty it before load-out so you are not carrying water. Three gallons is a manageable amount to dump on a lawn or a drain at the end of an event.

Which bases this fits

The X bases used under Feather, Teardrop, Falcon and Mamba flags. The 4.25 in. center hole drops over the base socket; the 22 in. outer ring sits inside the span of the legs.

It is not for spike bases. Those go into the ground and need no ballast.

Frequently asked questions

How many do I need?
One per base. Two flags, two bags.

Will this hold a flag in high wind?
No ballast will. The flags are rated to 18–23 mph and the graphic is usually the first thing to fail. The bag is there for ordinary gusts on pavement, not for weather you should be standing out in.

Can I use it with a spike base?
No. A spike base anchors in the ground and the bag has nothing to sit on.

Does it come with water?
No. It ships empty and flat.
