Square Hanging Banners

Four-sided overhead signs from 5 ft to 20 ft across, with four flat faces rather than a continuous curve.

When square beats round

You have more than one thing to say. Four flat panels take four distinct treatments — company name on two opposing faces, a product line or tagline on the others. A round sign wants one wrapping message; a square one can carry several without looking cluttered.

Your booth squares up to the aisles. In a grid layout, a square sign hung square to the floor plan presents a flat face straight down each aisle rather than a curve. Flat faces photograph better too, which matters more than it used to now that attendees post from the floor.

Your artwork is rectangular. Logos and lock-ups built for flat application drop onto flat panels with no distortion and no redraw.

The trade-off

Square signs have corners, and there are viewing angles — standing at 45 degrees — where you see two faces at once and neither reads cleanly. Round has no such angle. If your booth is approached from every direction and you only have one message, round is the safer buy.

Sizing

Measured across the face. 5 to 8 ft suits a 10x10 or 10x20; 10 ft and up suits islands. Height limits and whether overhead signage is permitted at all depend on the show — send us the exhibitor kit and we'll check it.

Comparing shapes? All hanging banners covers round, square, triangle and cube side by side, plus what rigging actually costs you.
