Can graphics be installed on a painted block or brick wall?

Yes, with the right film. Standard wall vinyl bridges across mortar joints and releases within months, while BrickWrap is made to conform into the texture. New paint also needs to cure before anything is applied over it, so a repaint and an install have to be sequenced.

Can a booster club or sponsor pay for athletic facility branding?

Yes. Athletic branding is frequently funded by boosters, alumni or a sponsor rather than out of the district budget. The specification and the installation run the same way regardless of who pays.

Can you install graphics printed by another supplier?

Yes. Installation and project management is offered on its own, including on graphics printed elsewhere. Sending the specification before printing avoids most install problems, which usually come from material choices made earlier.

DG Creativ is a custom graphics, signage and installation company based in Stow, Ohio. We work across Northeast Ohio, and the project we are best known for on the Cuyahoga County side is the athletic facility rebrand at North Royalton High School.

Vendor creep is what makes a good building look cheap

Very few schools set out to have inconsistent branding. It arrives one purchase order at a time. A banner from one supplier in 2019, a wall graphic from another in 2022, nameplates from whoever was cheapest that spring. Each one looked acceptable on its own. Together they read as five different schools.

North Royalton called it vendor creep, and it showed up as three things: purple and gold that did not match from one sign to the next, messaging that had drifted, and banners that had started to curl and sag off the wall.

The curl is the part worth understanding, because it is a material problem rather than a print problem. A hanging vinyl banner in a heated gym expands and contracts with the room, and the edges go first. Moving that same graphic onto a rigid substrate - PVC Sintra, DiBond aluminum, acrylic - removes the failure mode entirely. It costs more up front and it stops being a recurring purchase.

The project: North Royalton High School

The brief was a single consistent standard across the whole athletic footprint, matched to one set of color values on every substrate, from the gym to the locker rooms to the exterior masonry.

State championship signs - 3mm PVC Sintra, CNC-cut into the outline of the state of Ohio.
Suburban League board - a 5' x 10' display with interchangeable nameplates on a hook-and-loop system, so the board survives a change in the league lineup instead of being replaced.
Soccer Hall of Fame logo - brushed aluminum DiBond and clear acrylic with an opaque white ink backing, mounted on standoffs of two different lengths so the layers sit at different depths off the wall.
"Noro Nation" lettering - 36 feet long, letters 44 inches high, CNC-cut from 6mm PVC Sintra.
Exterior and facility identification - BrickWrap graphics, which are made to sit down into the texture of masonry rather than bridge across it.
Locker rooms - clear acrylic signage with white ink on standoffs, player nameplates in 6mm Sintra for football and soccer and magnetic plates for basketball and wrestling, 18" x 24" in-action photographs on foamcore, dry-erase graphics and door graphics.
Floors - floor graphics finished with an ASTM-rated overlaminate.

How a job runs

Measure. We come out and measure the actual wall, window, frame or vehicle. On-site measurement across Northeast Ohio is free. On a rebrand it also settles what the existing colors really are, which is usually not what the brand guide says.
Specify. The surface decides the material. Painted block, glazed block, brick, drywall, glass and fleet vinyl are five different products, and getting this wrong is the most common reason a graphic fails early.
Proof. You approve artwork at size, with the substrate and finish named on the proof.
Install. Done by us. A phased install around a sports calendar is normal - most of this work happens between seasons.

Why do our gym banners curl at the edges?
Almost always the material. A flexible banner in a space that swings in temperature and humidity moves at the edges first. Rigid substrates such as 3mm or 6mm PVC Sintra, DiBond aluminum or acrylic do not have that failure mode, which is why the North Royalton championship signage was built that way.
