Feather Flags

A feather flag is a curved aluminum pole with the graphic sleeved over its leading edge. The sleeve keeps the print taut against the pole, so the flag holds its shape and stays readable when there is no wind at all — which is the practical difference between it and a flag flown on a rope. The tapered top is where the name comes from.

Picking a size. Five sizes, 7 to 17 feet. The printed area grows faster than the height: the 7 ft. carries a graphic 20.5 x 63.25 in., the 10.5 ft. goes to 24.25 x 104 in., and the 17 ft. reaches 24.25 x 183.5 in. Under 10 feet is a booth or doorway marker, read from thirty or forty feet. Over 12 feet is a location marker, read from a road or across a parking lot. If people will be standing in front of it, go taller than feels necessary — a crowd takes the bottom four feet out of play.

Picking a base. A spike base drives into grass or soil and is the cheaper and steadier option outdoors. An X base is a cross-shaped floor plate for concrete, asphalt and indoor floors, and normally takes a water weight on top on a windy site. Buying both is reasonable if the same flag travels between an indoor show and an outdoor event.

Print and material. Dye-sublimated onto polyester-blend mesh, so the color is in the fiber rather than on top of it and will not crack or peel. Single-sided prints bleed through to the reverse as a mirror image. Double-sided prints are two graphics with a blocker between them, so each side reads correctly. Wind rating is 18–23 mph across the range.

Ordering. The printed graphic is included, not sold separately. Production is 2–3 business days after artwork approval, and everything on this page ships free ground. Replacement graphics fit hardware you already own, so a flag can be re-branded for well under the cost of a new set. For events in Northeast Ohio, DG Creativ can deliver and set up on site.
